I love my job.  With boxes all around us, the Content Paradise team is now settled into our new diggs here at Smith Micro, and I feel as giddy as I was before the first day of school.  New people, new pencils and pads of paper and most importantly new energy and ideas flowing all around us.  I'm excited.  7 years, 2 months and two offices ago, I walked into a buzzing publishing office for a temp job answering some customer service emails.  It was a start up company headed by a team of friends destined to breathe life into their precious baby, and they needed someone to fend off the eager customers emailing desperate to find non-existent boxed copies.  Fresh out of college and headed towards a career in education, I entered my "adult" employment at Curious Labs before there was even a Poser 4.0.3 by answering customer service email and doing random odd jobs around the office.  Today, as the Product Manager for Content Paradise over 2 years now, it was my job to explain to the head of accounting here what digital content was and why I was selling Viking Clothing in this century.  I've watched a lot happen here.  Product releases, new products, new offices, new companies.  My role in the company and even within CP has changed more times than I can count...but I'm here and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.  And I'm not the only one who feels that way.  I look around the office and see the people who have become my family.  Who love this company, these products and our customers like they were attached to us.  I know a lot of people are nervous or tentative and I've read pages and pages of speculation on the future.  I don't think anyone can predict what is going to happen next.  7 years ago, I was ready to enter Teach for America and become a Special Ed teacher in New Orleans.  Somewhere along the line I got sucked into this cult of passionate artists and I never looked back.  All I see in front of me are more people to "drink the kool-aid" and bring with me into this wondrous fantasy.  Change isn't easy, New things take time and adjustment, but I do know that even with all the ups and downs, this has been the best ride ever and you're not getting me off of it anytime soon.

So why another blog?  Did we do this because everyone has one and we just want to be like them?  Not really.  I'm an avid blogger and many of you have seen me around the Poser world for a long time "down in the dirt" talking to people in the forums, at trade shows or etc.  (Rendo people may remember "Starlet" from the Poser 5 days, or CP-Starlet from our own forums.)  In fact, our whole CP team has been pretty accessible via the forums and we've tried really hard to stay in communication with you guys and this just seemed to naturally be another medium in which we could interact.  I'm a big fan of blogging culture, and this is a place for Sarina and I to better share with you the products we throw back and forth to each other all day praising and pushing.  It's a place to be more informal and talk about our products and what's going on in the world of CP.  Maybe it's just another place to hear ourselves talk, but I personally think her and I are a hilarious comic duo that you will learn to love and appreciate and come heavily addicted to.  Come on, you know you want to know what her favorite piece of content is this week, or maybe if you're lucky, tomorrow I'll show you a sneak peek of the promotion we have running for you next week!  Who doesn't need another stop in this world of tubes we call the internet, especially one that gives you a little fix on your graphics habit?  So talk to us, comment, make suggestions about what you want this place to be.  If you don't, well, we'll just talk to ourselves like we already do. ;-)

So welcome to our little corner of the web...pull up a seat and say Hi!  Introduce yourselves and let us know what products you are using.  What is the one item of content that you desperately wish existed for your application that you can't find anywhere?

Happy Tuesday!

Hi Tori;

First I'd like to say congratulations on the new digs, it sounds like exciting times. You guys have done a great job with your products, they are stunning. Its amazing how far it has all come, movies like Beowulf are just the beginning imo. Do you feel your new digs opens up some doors for CP that may have been previously closed? Like expanding into the mobile platform or perhaps some synergies with other Smith products?

Keep up the great work & looking foward to the 'sneak peak'!

Hi Islandbound!

Thanks! It is very exciting times. I agree, I feel like we are on the edge of something amazing. I can't even believe Poser 7 vs. Poser 1. As far as the opportunities ahead for CP, I think they are endless. Like I said, I'm just giddy about what we are going to be able to do now. I think every project needs an infusion of fresh life every now and then, and I think this is a chance for CP to grow beyond our wildest dreams! More content, more vendors, more great things...it's just gonna be great!!

How long have you been using Poser?

Tori
